Screened Based Communication 1, commences 25th Jan - 3rd of Mar
Today we were given our new project, to produce a piece of moving image, lasting between 30 and 90 seconds that rhetorically communicates a statistic. The final piece must be a visual explanation of our information. From websites and references given I have only made the first steps of looking into different statistics that have grabbed my attention. During the briefing I instantly thought of Knife crime and how it's something that needs to be more recognised not just in the U.K but around the world. But thinking about the idea I thought about Gun crime as it effects the globe more... reading into some statistics about Gun crime I should hopefully be able to prepare a statement of intent and begin story boarding my ideas.

Final Crit!!
The time came to show all of our final posters and second dimensions... my feedback was o.k. An improvement to typography was recommend for my poster. After the crit I kept my original photograph but completely changed the rest of it. All I need to do is to show my second dimension in practice! starting of with asking some high street shops if I can photograph the peg on items of clothing and shoes.

Recent discussion with tutors... 13/01/2010
Yesterday in groups we all discussed our potential final posters for the War on Want campaign, recently changing my direction of campaign I chose to show my poster to represent the sweat shops. Although this poster isn't yet finished! I feel that this is a definite final solution. Also showing my second dimension, which I think links well with the poster. Much more development needed for my poster, yet to add a slogan relevant to its literal concept.

Want to get in the Big city?
This was a quick solution to one of my ideas, I simply placed text on a wall and part of a London scene.
Ideas and ruff ideas for The Wall campaign - Israel
I looked at the fashion campaign involving the shop workers across many countries, but I felt strongly about the other campaign, The Wall crisis in Israel, stopping the palatines from their everyday living, stopping them from attending their olive groves, stopping them from accessing hospitals and important schooling for the local children. As a community along the wall they all face the same situation day in day out, they have this massive boundary with no one to help. Thats where War on want come into it, designing a Poster for a bus 'adshel' I'm going to advertise either the fashion campaign or the Wall campaign. I designed some ruff posters for the Wall crisis as I had thought of my second dimension which involved environmental graffiti to advertise the campaign. I looked at using a a big city in our own country e.g London and decided to put a wall in front of the city making it difficult for people to go about their everyday life but also quoted a tag line ' Want a job in the big city?' to get people to take interest, especially students.
I then developed the idea of involving my second dimension with my poster, using a graffiti theme and typography...
